Our client, a market-leading international organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller with professional or native-level French language skills to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value ledgers and play a key role in recovering high aged debt across French-speaking regions.

The Role:

As a Senior Credit Controller, you will take full responsibility for managing a portfolio of accounts, working closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure overdue debt is minimised and cash flow is optimised. The role requires a commercially astute, confident individual with strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage long-standing aged debt while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end credit control process for French-speaking clients, focusing on complex, high-value ledgers.
• Drive the recovery of significant aged debt through proactive communication, negotiation, and resolution of disputes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Finance) to ensure smooth payment processes.
• Conduct credit risk assessments, review credit limits, and recommend actions to mitigate bad debt exposure.
• Produce detailed aged debt analysis and reporting for senior management.
• Support and mentor junior team members where required.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance collections efficiency and working capital performance.

Candidate Profile:

• Fluent French speaker (native or professional business level) – essential.
• Proven experience as a Credit Controller or Senior Credit Controller within a large, fast-paced organisation.
• Strong track record of successfully managing complex ledgers and recovering high aged debt.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.
• Confident with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
