Financial Controller – VC-Backed Engineering Services Business – Central London (Hybrid working)

Cedar is partnering with a venture capital-backed engineering services business now at £60m in revenue to appoint a Financial Controller. Operating across the UK and serving a broad client base, the business is entering an exciting phase of continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional to take ownership of the accounting function, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with FP&A to support the wider business.

The opportunity:

• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial results.
• Lead financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation and the annual audit process.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring robust financial controls and accounting processes.
• Work closely with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and commercial reporting.
• Partner directly with the CFO, providing financial insight and helping strengthen the finance function as the business scales.
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes, reporting and internal controls.

The ideal candidate:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a strong technical accounting background.
• Experienced in financial control, month-end reporting, statutory accounts and audit management.
• Comfortable taking ownership of the accounting function within a growing, multi-site or operationally complex business.
• A strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with FP&A and senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on, commercially aware and keen to make an impact in a growing, VC-backed environment.
