Intro

A high-growth technology business is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to provide financial leadership and support the business through a potential exit to private equity.

This is a commercially focused, hands-on assignment requiring someone who can maintain control of the finance function while preparing the business, its reporting and its financial information for a transaction.

The Company

An established, investor-backed technology business operating in a growing market. The company has reached an important stage in its development and is preparing for a potential sale to a private equity investor.

Finance will play a central role in demonstrating the quality of earnings, supporting due diligence and ensuring the management team can clearly articulate the company’s financial performance and growth potential.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with shareholders and external advisers, the Interim Finance Director will lead the finance function while taking a central role in exit preparation and transaction delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the finance workstream throughout the exit process
• Preparing the business, finance team and financial information for due diligence
• Managing the data room and responding to financial and commercial information requests
• Supporting quality of earnings, financial due diligence and valuation analysis
• Strengthening forecasting, cash flow management and Board reporting
• Improving the quality, accuracy and consistency of management information
• Providing clear analysis of revenue, margins, customer performance and growth drivers
• Developing robust financial models and supporting the business plan
• Working closely with shareholders, potential investors and external advisers
• Maintaining strong financial control and effective day-to-day leadership of the finance function

Your Profile

• Qualified accountant with significant Finance Director-level experience
• Previous experience operating as Finance Director during a successful exit to private equity
• Strong background within a technology, software or technology-enabled business
• Demonstrable experience of exit preparation, due diligence and transaction delivery
• Comfortable managing external advisers, investors and demanding senior stakeholders

Compensation & Benefits

This 9 month interim role offers a day rate of £800-£900, dependent on experience, and is based in London. The position provides the opportunity to lead finance through a critical stage in the company’s development, working closely with the CEO, shareholders and advisers to prepare the business for a potential private equity transaction.
