Management Accountant

Salary up to £55,000

Previous retail experience is essential
Location: Central London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Role Overview
Key role within a fast-paced finance team, responsible for accurate stock and cost reporting, supporting operations, and delivering commercial insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Own monthly reporting of stock balances: stock on hand, COGS, goods in transit, provisions, and adjustments
• Ensure accuracy of stockholding costs: warehousing, logistics, packaging, freight, duty, and handling
• Prepare monthly cost analysis with variance to budget and prior year
• Partner with commercial and operational teams to understand cost drivers and provide insight
• Perform weekly reconciliations (sales, COGS, commissions)
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, capitalised freight)
• Support year-end audit and respond to audit queries
• Business partner with logistics and retail operations
• Assist with budgeting and quarterly forecasting
• Work with IT to support ERP system integrations

Person Specification

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) – essential
• Retail experience OR strong stock/multi-site experience is essential
• Advanced Excel and strong systems skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Able to manage deadlines independently
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Collaborative and adaptable approach
