Salary: Circa £85,000 + bonus

A rapidly expanding, PE backed business is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to work alongside the CFO, developing a robust, scalable finance function while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and contributing to key business priorities and growth plans.

The Role
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the finance function, overseeing financial reporting, core operations, and controls while managing a small team. You will also drive process improvements, enhance systems, and support the business in preparing for future funding and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

• Lead the month-end close and produce consolidated management accounts
• Ensure balance sheet integrity and manage working capital
• Maintain and improve internal controls and data accuracy

Technical Accounting & Compliance

• Prepare statutory accounts under UK GAAP / IFRS
• Oversee audits and regulatory filings
• Manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions

Commercial & Strategic Support

• Partner on budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
• Provide financial insight to support strategic decisions
• Deliver cashflow forecasting and scenario modelling

Process Improvement & Systems

• Drive automation and efficiency improvements across finance
• Enhance reporting systems and overall financial infrastructure
• Support due diligence and readiness for investment or transaction activity

Stakeholder & Investor Reporting

• Prepare insightful reporting for senior leadership and investors
• Support financing, corporate transactions, and strategic projects

Person Specification

• Seasoned Financial Controller with hands-on experience in fast-growing and scaling businesses
• Solid expertise in technical accounting, including UK GAAP and IFRS
• Demonstrated success overseeing month-end reporting, audits, and robust internal controls
• Commercially focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator, experienced in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
