Intro

Cedar is partnered with a PE-backed, product-led technology business to appoint an Interim FP&A Manager. This is an initial 3-month contract, based in the Greater Glasgow area, paying £500-£600 per day (Outside IR35).

The business operates in a technically complex, product-driven environment with revenues generated across multiple international markets. It combines physical products, software, and recurring revenue streams, selling through a mix of direct and indirect channels. Following sustained growth and continued private equity investment, the focus is on strengthening commercial insight, market-level performance visibility, and planning discipline across the group.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, this is a commercially focused FP&A management role with responsibility for financial planning, analysis, and business partnering across a defined portfolio of markets. You will work closely with sales, operations, and senior management to translate performance into actionable insight and support decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Senior finance business partnering with commercial and operational stakeholders across multiple international markets
• Ownership of monthly P&L analysis by market, including detailed variance analysis versus budget and forecast
• Building, maintaining, and enhancing financial models across revenue, gross margin, EBIT, cash flow, and investment cases
• Leading monthly reforecasting cycles and supporting longer-term planning activity
• Playing a central role in annual budgeting and multi-period planning processes
• Development, monitoring, and reporting of KPIs aligned to commercial and operational performance
• Preparation and delivery of management and board-level financial packs with clear narrative and insight
• Identification of trends, risks, and opportunities, supported by robust analysis and commercial commentary
• Ad-hoc commercial finance, scenario modelling, and project-based support as required
• Continuous improvement of planning, forecasting, and reporting tools, primarily in Excel

Your Profile

You will be a commercially minded FP&A professional, comfortable operating at FP&A Manager level in a fast-paced, investor-backed environment. You are likely to bring:

• Proven FP&A experience within a product-led, technology, or operationally complex business
• Strong commercial finance and business partnering capability, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
• Advanced financial modelling skills, including revenue, margin, cash flow, and scenario analysis
• Experience owning forecasting, reforecasting, and budgeting processes across multiple markets or business units
• Ability to distil complex data into clear, decision-useful insight for C-suite and board audiences
• A hands-on, pragmatic approach, able to take ownership quickly with minimal handover
• Comfort working at pace in a PE-backed environment with high expectations around insight, accuracy, and delivery

Compensation & Contract

• £500-£600 per day, Outside IR35
• Initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension
• Hybrid working arrangement, based near Glasgow, with approximately 3 days per week in the office
