HR Payroll Specialist Permanent NEW

Cedar Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading research institute with the Recruitment of a Payroll Specialist, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The salary on offer is between £51,000-£55,000 per annum.

This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and resilient monthly payroll process whilst supporting the organisation with the implementation of a new Oracle Payroll system. For the role you will receive a USS pension scheme, 28 days annual leave (Increasing after 2 years of service) amongst other generous benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the monthly payroll timetable, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
• Act as a subject matter expert on payroll matters, including statutory payments, allowances, and benefits.
• Partner closely with HR and Finance colleagues to resolve queries and ensure data accuracy across payroll systems.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to the review and development of payroll policies and support annual pay review modelling.
• Support the implementation of a new Oracle Cloud ERP system, including participation in workshops and testing.
• Ensure records are accurately maintained in line with GDPR.

Essential Requirements:

• Strong experience working within HR and payroll functions, ideally in complex organisations.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven payroll processes.
• Knowledge of integrated Payroll systems
• Sound understanding of UK employment law, payroll legislation, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
