Contract: Interim (6-9 months)
Day Rate: £300 – £350 per day

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Transactional Services to lead and oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions for a large, complex organisation. This role will ensure efficient end-to-end transactional processes, maintain strong internal controls and drive process improvement initiatives during a period of transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the AP, AR, and Payroll teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to SLAs.
• Oversee all transactional finance operations, including cash allocation, reconciliations and query management.
• Implement and embed robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Drive process improvements and system efficiency’s, including automation initiatives and best practice adoption.
• Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and senior leadership teams.
• Produce accurate and timely management reports and KPIs for transactional finance functions.
• Support change management and transformation projects within finance operations.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven track record in a senior transactional finance leadership role (Head of Transactional Services, Shared Services Manager or similar).
• Strong technical expertise across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
• Experience managing large teams within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Demonstrated success in driving process improvement and implementing system changes (ERP experience is essential).
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.
• Available immediately or on short notice.
