Interim Financial Controller Interim NEW

Cedar is currently partnered with a mid-market PE-backed healthcare provider to help them secure an Interim Financial Controller. This role reports into the CFO and will be based in the Brighton area on a hybrid basis (2-3 days per week). It is a 3-6 month assignment, paying £500-550 per day.

The Role
You will be responsible for the smooth running of all day-to-day finance activities, ensuring core processes and controls are delivered to the highest standard. Working closely with the CFO and leading a small finance team, you’ll provide stability and clarity during a critical phase.

• Full ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting.
• Deliver timely and accurate month-end close and management reporting.
• Oversee statutory audit and compliance requirements.
• Ensure strong financial controls and efficient finance processes.
• Provide insightful variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
• Manage and support the finance team to deliver consistently high-quality outputs.
• Support the CFO with ad hoc projects and financial analysis as required.

Your Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical grounding with experience across financial reporting, audits, and controls.
• Hands-on finance leader comfortable managing a small team.
• Proven ability to deliver in BAU-heavy interim assignments.
• Exposure to PE-backed or growth environments is advantageous.
