Cedar takes on the Three Peaks Challenge for Spread a Smile

This summer, Cedar is lacing up its hiking boots and taking on one of the UK’s toughest outdoor challenges, the legendary National Three Peaks Challenge, all in support of Spread a Smile, a remarkable charity dedicated to bringing joy and laughter to seriously ill children across the UK.
From the 4th to 6th July 2025, our team, Kirsteen Brannigan Hughes, Jo Goodwill, David Mendonca and Graham Thornton, will join Team Smile to climb the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales: Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) (1,085m). The challenge involves over 10,000 feet of ascent and a total distance of 23 miles, all to be completed within a tough 24-hour timeframe. It will be a true test of endurance, determination and teamwork.
Every step will help raise vital funds for Spread a Smile, supporting their incredible work with children and families facing the most difficult times.

About Spread a Smile
Spread a Smile brings joy and laughter to seriously ill children in NHS hospitals and hospices across the country.
Through in-person and virtual visits and events, Spread a Smile’s entertainers – from magicians to musicians, artists, fairies and therapy dogs – enhance wellbeing and help young patients and their families cope with the pain and anxiety of serious illness and hospitalisation, developing bespoke relationships with each family and each health setting, so that we can offer the most impactful support.
