Global Category Lead Permanent NEW

Cedar is supporting a Private Sector organisation, based in Central London, who are looking to hire a Global Category Lead. This is a 24-Month Fixed Term Contract position offering a salary up to £110,000 plus a range of Benefits. This role will operate on a hybrid working basis with the expectation to be on-site 2 days per week and the remainder from home – there may also be occasional trips to meet Suppliers/Stakeholders across Europe. Candidates applying MUST HAVE the right to work in the UK and be experienced working in for an organisation in the UK operating on a Global level as a minimum in order to be considered.

Reporting into the Group Procurement Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing Group category strategy across Indirects and areas which may cover areas such as logistics, transport, haulage, distribution, third-party logistics, warehousing and related services. The role will establish a more strategic, coordinated and commercially disciplined category approach across a currently fragmented landscape. This includes supplier segmentation, market intelligence, sourcing strategies, framework agreements, contractual standards, supplier performance management and category governance.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

• experience working in role that covers Global Procurement/Category Management – ideally with exposure to categories such as Logistics, Transport and Indirects
• strong Stakeholder and Supplier Management skills – you need to be confident presenting and challenging key internal stakeholders at C-Suite level
• track record of delivering compliance and value for money in previous roles
• strong understand and experience using Microsoft tools such as PowerPoint
• experiencing working for/with a Procurement Consultancy would be advantageous but is not required
