About the role

Cedar has partnered with a well-known growing retail group who are seeking a detail driven and proactive Junior Finance Analyst to join a busy and fast paced finance function, supporting the cash and treasury operations across a multi-entity, multi-currency business.

This role sits at the heart of the finance team and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all cash and banking activity. You will own the end-to-end cash lifecycle, from transaction processing through to reconciliations and month end close.

This is a key position in maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring all bank balances are fully reconciled, understood, and accurately reflected in the financial records.

Key responsibilities

Cash and bank reconciliations

• Prepare and review daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, ensuring timely clearance and escalation where required
• Ensure all bank accounts are fully reconciled with complete supporting documentation and audit trail
• Identify and resolve root causes of recurring discrepancies

Transaction processing and cashbook management

• Post and allocate all banking transactions accurately and on time
• Maintain the integrity and completeness of the cashbook across all entities
• Manage high volumes of transactions with correct classification and coding

Month end and reporting

• Support month end close activities relating to cash and bank balances
• Maintain strong internal controls over all cash and banking processes
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations
• Identify opportunities to improve controls and processes

Stakeholder management

• Work closely with treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and management accounts teams to resolve discrepancies
• Act as a key point of contact for banking queries and issue resolution

Skills and experience required

• Experience in a finance, cash accounting, or treasury operations role
• Strong experience with bank reconciliations
• Comfortable working with high volume transactional data
• Strong understanding of financial controls and reconciliation processes
• Experience working across multiple bank accounts, entities, or currencies is highly desirable
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
• High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving
