This rapidly scaling, PE backed success story, designs and manufactures products that are vital to the performance of digital networks, an essential component of everyday life.

With a UK head office, this global organisation has additional sites in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and USA.

The business is now seeking a talented Group Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO, the role includes;

• Leading a team of 5, owning end-to-end financial control and accounting.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements, including opportunities to develop the accounting & reporting systems to maximise the value provided to users.
• Owning all operational aspects of the group finance team including AP, AR, Banking, Inventory & Payroll, all monthly transactions, journals, accruals & prepayments to ensure accuracy of the monthly/annual accounts.
• Providing monthly/annual management accounts with insightful analysis and commentary for the CFO and CEO.
• Partnering the CFO to deliver annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts to be distributed to both internal & external stakeholders.
• Delivery of all statutory financial accounts on an annual basis for the group and subsequent submission to companies house (or country equivalents).
• Managing the month end and year end close.
• Overseeing the group audit process.
• Review and control of balance sheet reconciliations for all global entities.
• Managing the delivery of VAT & Tax calculations & submissions to the various 3^rd parties.
• Closely monitoring cashflow and provide forecasts – Annual & 13 week.
• Checking inventory and COS stock (based at subcontract manufacturing partners) and the associated P&L/Working Capital risk by working closely with supply chain and operations.
• Partnering with all business heads to ensure costs are accurately evaluated and budgeted for.
• Establishing financial policies & procedures to ensure all appropriate standards are met and best practice is consistently followed globally.
• Maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to measure performance and demonstrate continual.

Candidate profile requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred)
• Experienced team leader
• Demonstrable experience as a Financial Controller (or similar), having operated with an international remit
• Measurable experience of delivering improvements across the accounting / reporting environment, including the maximising of financial systems capability

Ideally (but not essential), you will have also worked within:

• A PE backed organisation
• The manufacturing/engineering sector
• A scaling SME
