Commercial Finance Manager – Retail Permanent

Cedar is supporting a global retail business with the hire of a Commercial Finance Manager. In this role you’ll act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, delivering insightful analysis, accurate forecasting, and business planning across head office departments and all retail channels. You’ll also play a pivotal part in the preparation of board reports, trade reviews, and new business proposals, all with a focus on enhancing commercial decision-making and supporting sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior stakeholders to review costs, forecast overheads, and identify opportunities for efficiency
• Lead monthly budget reviews with department heads and help shape action plans
• Oversee and review weekly trade performance, with detailed margin and stock analysis
• Support property-related financial planning
• Deliver monthly reporting on P&L, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis
• Prepare budget, quarterly forecasts, and 5-year plans
• Act as a key contact for group-wide reporting, analysis, and planning
• Manage and develop one Commercial Finance Analyst

Qualifications & Experience:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
• Experience in a multi-site or retail environment preferred
• Strong commercial finance and business partnering background
• Proven ability to deliver strategic insight and influence stakeholders
• Strong forecasting, budgeting, and business case preparation skills
