Interim Accounts Payable Assistant – Higher Education

Location: London (hybrid working model)
Rate: £18-£22 per hour (Inside IR35)
Duration: 9 months

We are working with a prestigious higher education institution to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant for an interim assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments and expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately input invoices and payment data into financial systems (Oracle experience desirable)
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of accounts payable transactions
• Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries
• Reconcile supplier statements and assist with weekly payment runs
• Support month-end processes and audit preparation as required
• Review and process staff expense claims in line with internal policies

About You:

• Previous experience in accounts payable, ideally within higher education or a large complex organisation
• Confident using accounting software and Excel
• Detail-focused, organised, and proactive
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
