Head of Finance, Transportation, Central Glasgow, £85-95k + benefits

I am working with the market leader in the transportation space who are looking for an all-rounder commercially astute and technically strong Head of Finance to lead two of their business units. With a group turnover of £400m, this renowned organisation is looking to grow their top line revenue through organic growth and a healthy pipeline of acquisitions.

Responsible for 2 business units making up £100mil of their revenue, you will be leading a small team focusing on financial performance and management, providing support for the business for backward looking performance management and forward-looking budgets and strategic planning.

Reporting into the Group CFO this position offers fantastic non-finance stakeholder engagement, working very closely with the Managing Director and Operations teams and business partnering across the 2 entities to drive and deliver robust monthly forecasts and annual budgets.

You must be technically strong accountant with the ability to prepare statutory accounts and ensure accountancy policies are upheld.

This is a real opportunity to drive new processes, optimise and re-design current processes. The ideal candidate will love nurturing teams, business partnering with stakeholders and be the face of finance for these 2 BU’s.

Essentials:

• Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Previous Management Experience
• Experience driving new processes / streamlining current processes
• Ability to business partner at all levels – operational and very senior leaders
• Proven technical finance experience, having previously produced statutory accounts.
• Personable and effective communicator with strong presentation skills

Desirables:

• Transportation industry experience
• Experience using SAP 4 Hana
• System Implementation experience
