Commercial Finance Lead Interim

Intro

Cedar is currently partnered with a high-growth, PE-backed Consumer Technology business to secure a Commercial Finance Lead for a rapidly expanding division, based in Central London. This is a maternity cover contract running from June 2026 through to approximately August 2027, offering a salary of £85,000-100,000.

The business continues to invest heavily into growth areas, with Grocery representing one of its fastest-growing and most commercially important divisions.

The Role

As Commercial Finance Lead, you will:

• Act as the lead finance business partner to the divisional leadership team
• Support trading performance, commercial decision-making and operational planning
• Challenge and influence senior stakeholders, including commercial leadership
• Deliver detailed modelling, forecasting and performance analysis
• Work closely with large and often unstructured data sets to generate actionable commercial insight
• Support pricing, trading and commercial initiatives with clear financial analysis
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting, forecasting and KPI tracking
• Operate in a highly hands-on environment within a fast-paced growth business

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

• A formal accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong commercial finance experience within a fast-paced environment
• Previous exposure to trading, performance or business partnering roles
• Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
• Experience working with large, complex or messy data sets
• The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
• Grocery, retail, consumer or technology sector exposure would be beneficial
• Approximately 5-7 years PQE preferred
• The ability to hit the ground running from day one in a highly commercial environment

Compensation & Benefits
