Cedar is currently partnered with a global, PE-Backed, Telecommunications Business to secure an Interim Group Reporting Director based in Central London. The role is a 12-month initial contract, paying a day rate between £1000-1500 per day.

The Role

As Group Reporting Director, you will cover:

  • Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for the group and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with technical accounting guidance and managing audits across diverse territories.
  • Manage the annual group audit, ensuring successful completion for all subsidiary business units while applying expertise in IFRS and technical accounting.
  • Drive the implementation of new accounting standards across the group, interpreting and applying regulatory requirements effectively.
  • Oversee group consolidations to identify and address potential reporting issues, leveraging deep understanding of IFRS principles.
  • Provide technical guidance to business units on revenue recognition, leases, acquisitions, and disposals, facilitating compliance with accounting standards.
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial schedules for internal and shareholder reporting, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Foster collaboration with financial reporting teams of subsidiaries to streamline information flow for group reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy in monthly journals, intercompany balance reconciliations, and month-end reconciliations, adhering to IFRS.
  • Oversee accounting adjustments requiring local GAAP translation to IFRS, including lease contracts, derivative contracts, and fair value adjustments for fixed assets.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the Finance function to enhance efficiency.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

  • A formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/CA)·
  • Previous experience with IFRS reporting, liaising with external audits.
  • An ability to deliver controls and compliance reporting.
  • Experience of managing relationships and working closely with other departments
  • Prior experience in an interim / contract role would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • The rate of £1000-1500 per day represents a fair value, or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
