Role Overview:
A Workday Data Lead for Finance Transformation is a key role within an organization that is undergoing a finance transformation initiative, particularly involving the implementation or optimization of the Workday platform for financial processes. This individual is responsible for managing and overseeing the data-related aspects of the transformation, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and appropriately utilized within the Workday system.
Responsibilities:
Data Strategy: Develop a comprehensive data strategy for the finance transformation initiative. This includes defining data governance practices, data quality standards, data integration processes, and data migration plans.
Data Migration: Lead the planning and execution of data migration activities, which involves transferring financial data from legacy systems to the Workday platform. This includes data mapping, data cleansing, and ensuring data accuracy during the migration process.
Data Governance: Establish data governance policies and procedures to maintain the quality, integrity, and security of financial data within Workday. Define data ownership, data stewardship, and data access guidelines.
Data Integration: Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement data integration solutions between Workday and other systems within the organization's tech ecosystem. Ensure seamless data flow for financial processes.
Data Quality: Monitor and maintain data quality within Workday. Implement data validation rules, resolve data discrepancies, and establish ongoing data quality checks.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance teams, IT teams, project managers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of data-related activities with the broader finance transformation goals.
Reporting and Analytics: Enable effective financial reporting and analytics by ensuring that the data architecture supports accurate and timely reporting from Workday. Collaborate with business intelligence teams to design and optimize financial dashboards and reports.
Change Management: Support change management efforts by helping users understand and adapt to the new data processes and workflows within Workday. Provide training and resources as needed.
Issue Resolution: Identify and address any data-related issues that arise during the transformation process. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related challenges promptly.
Qualifications:
