Cedar are supporting an IT Managed Service Provider based in North Yorkshire who are looking to hire a Vendor Manager. This is an exciting, newly created, role in the business and is offering a salary range of £55,000 up to £65,000 per annum (plus benefits). This role will operate on a hybrid basis with the split being in the office 2 days per week and the remainder from home. This role will also include travel to various offices throughout the UK to meet key stakeholders in the organisation when required.

The successful candidate will report in to the Head of Vendor Management and will have overall responsibility to manage 3rd Party relationships across multiple areas of the business. The key focus of this role will be to improve supplier management effectiveness against Risk Management, Performance Management, Cost Management and Commercial & Relationship Management. You will also be required to champion the management of suppliers to ensure operational and business leads perform tasks/responsibilities on time. You will be required to define and execute strategies to drive performance including; customer satisfaction and cost in partnership. You will also be required to lead on new supplier onboarding processes, contract renewals and changes and have the ability to challenge suppliers on i.e. costs. This role will also support the development and optimisation of SRM tools, methodologies and practices with the Head of Vendor Management in this newly created function.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

  • Previous experience working in a Vendor Management or Supplier Relationship Management position, experience working in these roles within a technology and/or MSP environment would be highly desirable
  • CIPS qualification would be beneficial but equivalent Vendor/Supplier Relationship Management accreditation would be desirable
  • Experience operating/managing contracts and commercial teams
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to work at pace in a lively/fast paced team environment
