The Role:

Procurement is still a fairly new function to the business as they continue to grow. The head of Procurement has established a strong foundation and standing within the organisation and is now looking to continue to grow the function and enable growth for the business through best in class procurement.

Procurement is already in high demand and given the nature of the business, technology is a key area of spend. This brand new role will ensure the business secure commercial value from their technology suppliers and establish contracts that help scale with the organisation whilst also minimising risk.

Procurement is not there to be a 'blocker'; but an enabler. They seek to provide stakeholders with fast paced pragmatic procurement support. With no hard or fast policies or processes, the successful candidate will have to be approachable, adaptable and comfortable with a constantly changing environment/ambiguity at times. Stakeholders are very forthcoming, which yields great working relationships and fantastic outcomes for the business and suppliers.

Key Skills:

  • A strong track record of delivery in a procurement/commercial role with a focus on the technology category
  • An understanding that there is more to procurement than purely cost savings agendas, able to business partner with stakeholders to help enable growth
  • Ability to deliver effective contract negotiations experience ideally across categories including: Software, SaaS,Hardware, End User Computing, Cloud and hosting as well as Outsourcing
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to exec level - able to challenge in the right way to achieve a positive result
  • Able to drive best value and continuous improvement activity with suppliers
  • Team player who can function in a collaborative environment
  • Someone who can adapt in a constantly changing environment
