Award winning and rapidly expanding automotive/consumer Electronics brand are looking for a Software development Project Manager to work closely with the Technical Director to manage, evaluate and deliver on all live projects across the technical software category of the organisation. You will have the ability to quickly gain respect across the company and multitask many projects concurrently. This role will require working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Responsibilities include collation and evaluation of all project proposals, prioritisation of key projects, evaluation of proposals for financial viability and creating detailed and accurate project plans with clear deliverables. You will be responsible for all project communication and promotion of cross departmental collaboration, presenting project status progress reports and highlighting any challenges to achieving the final objectives to senior the management team.

To be a successful candidate, you will need proven experience in project management, ideally in a technical hardware, automotive organisation and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes. A professional project management qualification and/or a degree in a relevant field - eg computer science, electronics or electrical engineering (BEng) would be highly desirable.

Main areas/key skills

  • Main point of contact for new project focus, evaluation and delivery
  • Coordinating with cross discipline team members, to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
  • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues
  • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards
  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution
  • Facilitating change requests to ensure all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget
  • Obtaining cross departmental acceptance of project deliverables
  • Coordinating supporting material such as Customer Support setup, APPs, Software, Graphic design, User Manuals, Website, Certification, Backend servers

Requirements:

  • Someone who can translate technical issues across the organisation and to customers
  • Project Management Professional qualification (Prince 2, MSP)
  • Project Management experience in hardware/technical audio visual projects & programmes
  • Ability to travel, between two primary sites in the UK
  • Ability to lead project teams of various sizes
  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies
  • Strong working knowledge of systems - Microsoft Office
  • A Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree in a related field (computer science or electronics)
