Cedar are currently looking for a Senior EMEA Payroll Analyst/ Specialist to join a technology company based in Reading on a permanent basis.

Remote working but would be expected in the office 2 days per month. (free parking on-site)

Primary focus is ensuring that payroll of 13 countries in Europe (Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Spain & Italy) are processed in an accurate and timely manner. Furthermore, the Senior Payroll Analyst will provide support to the HR Team by communicating HR programs, practices and initiatives that contribute to the success of the business and the individual team member.

Primarily Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely data gathering and preparation of monthly payrolls for all European entities including but not limited to new hire registration, exit paperwork, employee transfers, etc.
  • Co-ordinate with the global payroll provider with focus on the accuracy and timely submission of the monthly payrolls , accurate and timely receipt of payroll reports; data validation and resolving discrepancies within tight deadlines.
  • Partner with global HR, and Finance to proactively identify and address issues; provide timely support and resolution
  • Coordinate payroll approvals and funding instructions according to policies.
  • Provide timely and high value customer service to employees ensuring research and responses are thorough.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Reply to tax notices, wage orders, unemployment claims, government correspondences, and verification of employments for international entities
  • Support company management and international finance teams with month-end close and reporting activities.
  • Ad hoc HR projects as assigned, e.g. administrating on-boarding and off-boarding of employees.
  • Under direct supervision of the Payroll Manager, works with organisational leaders to support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives to achieve functional and operational HR alignment.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Must have strong work ethic, be well organised and detail oriented with strong time management.
  • Fluency in English both orally and in writing required
  • Fluent in German or Dutch would be a plus
  • Strong experience with payroll and related software platforms (ADP Streamline/Celergo, Oracle)
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate relevant information to all levels of the organisation
  • Accuracy with record keeping and reconciliation
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced international environment
  • A self-starter who is used to working both as a team player and independently
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years related experience processing European payroll.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration (Finance or payroll administration) preferred
