The College is seeking to appoint a Senior Finance Manager to work with their Enterprise Division. This division is responsible for developing and managing the College's entrepreneurial activities and comprises 140 specialists in industry partnerships & commercial projects. Their work is often in the news - projects in which they are involved have contributed to advancements in vaccine technology as well as providing solutions to key environmental and climate issues.

This is a newly created position that will support the Director of Enterprise in shaping the financial direction and strategy of the team and provide key strategic support to senior management. You will oversee the financial management of the Division's three subsidiary companies; Imperial Consultants (ICON), Imperial Projects Ltd (IPROJ) and Imperial College Innovations Ltd (ICIL).

Selected responsibilities include:

  • Lead all aspects of the financial accounting, reporting and control systems for the entire Enterprise division.
  • Own the audit and production of the year-end Annual Report & Accounts for the three Enterprise subsidiaries.
  • Partner with key colleagues and Directors within Enterprise to develop local plans, ensuring alignment with longer-term College-wide strategic financial planning.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for Enterprise and its subsidiaries including quarterly updates and forecasts.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, dashboards, metrics and other performance reports for Enterprise directors and subsidiary boards.
  • Line management of three employees in the Enterprise finance team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Be a qualified accountant with sufficient PQE and experience in financial accounting.
