Cedar are thrilled to be partnered with a high-profile Education organisation who are hiring for a super commercial Senior Finance Business Partner role.

This newly created commercial finance role is the perfect position for a recently qualified candidate looking to step up into a truly commercial and operational position, contributing key financial information to stakeholders and contributing to improvements within the finance function.

The foundation of the role would be working across the groups CAPEX and Fixed Assets, focusing on commercial opportunities for the company and highlighting strategic risks & opportunities to the CFO. You will be involved in creating financial reports and providing commercial information by business partnering with key stakeholders across the business.

The core remit of the position will focus across Capital Accounting and understanding the values of the companies largest asset. You will be supporting wider projects such as investment appraisals and reviewing business operations for money initiatives. You will focus in providing financial analysis for income, expenditure and business operations whilst using your modelling skills to produce capital expenditure reports with a 5 year business plan.

You're forward thinking ability will contribute to supporting the CFO and helping to prepare report packs whilst using your confidence and interpersonal skills to deliver information during stakeholder meetings.

To be successful in this role you will need to be:

  • A qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA
  • Have previous experience or understanding of public sector or not for profit organisations
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritise tasks and a confident communicator with proven skill of business partnering senior stakeholders
  • Core understanding and previous experience working across Capital Accounting, CAPEX and Fixed Assets would be beneficial
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS
