Our forward thinking and highly regarded Tier 2 M&E organisation is looking for a Senior Electrical Estimator to work within the Infrastructure environment across a range of sectors to include Highways, Power, Rail, Tunnels and/or Telco.
This is an integral position within the estimating team, responsible for leading a portfolio of projects within the company. You will be responsible for reviewing all estimating documentation produced as well as completing standardised estimating tasks - including take-offs and pricing.
Key areas
- Support the Estimating Manager on individual projects and take ownership on estimating documentation
- Review and analyse tender documentation, highlight any potential problems and suggest solutions
- Ensure Company estimating processes are maintained and followed
- Analysing tenders to ensure they are compliant and in-line with client requirements
- Work with the Bid Manager and/or Proposals Manager, to support the submission of complete tenders
- Maintain/update the library of rates for sub-contractors and suppliers
- Attend pre and post tender meetings
- Work closely with Operations/Commercial/Procurement functions to create accurate estimates
- Build/develop strong relationships and interaction with the clients
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the Company's estimating software, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date
- Working knowledge of electrical estimating best practices and methodologies
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel
- Knowledge of Estimating software and packages such as Trimble, Countfire, Livecount etc
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working within a Mechanical and Electrical contractor
- Experience of pricing multi-disciplined mechanical, electrical and comms contracts in excess of £20M +
- Experience of liaising with end-user clients and Tier 1 contractors
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Can do take-offs and pricing
- Self- motivated
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels including peers and superiors
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
