Cedar have been engaged to support a Public Sector client based in Central London who are on the look for a Senior Contracts Officer. This is a permanent role with a salary of up to £41,466 on offer and will remain home based until March 2021 and will then be a mixture of home and office based in line with Government guidance.

The role of the Senior Contracts Officer will support the assigned service's operational management, which has a portfolio of contracts worth c£15m, by negotiating, drawing up and procuring a diverse range of contracts with key providers and by establishing and maintaining preferred provider lists and framework contracts to meet the service's statutory and ad-hoc requirements. You will be required to provide contract management advice ensuring that arrangements are in place for effective contract management, manage high value/high importance contracts as required to ensure contractual and statutory obligations are met, identify and manage risks that may arise through the operation of the contract and implements robust financial and operational controls. This role will also have an emphasis on contract negotiation to ensure value for money is continually achieved.

Candidates applying for this role MUST HAVE:

  • CIPS or IACCM qualification or relevant degree or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working in the Public Sector in a Procurement, Category, Commercial or Contract Management position
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Track record of delivering value of money/savings for the Public Sector
