Cedar are currently looking for part time Payroll Administrator to join a business in Aldridge, West Midlands.

  • Salary: £28,000 (pro rata) per annum depending on experience
  • 3 days per week - hybrid working (1 day in the office)
  • Monday - Wednesday hours from 9am - 5.15pm. (21.75 hours per week.)

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day administration of client payrolls over multiple pay frequencies including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual.

Reporting into: Payroll Manager

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full end to end administration of client payrolls over multiple pay frequencies including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual.
  • Processing all types of manual payroll calculations, including salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Applying knowledge of PAYE/NIC and statutory payments, for example, SMP/SAP, SPP and SSP.
  • Apply knowledge of pension schemes, including AE process and pension upload to pension providers website.
  • Timely RTI submissions and process end of year forms P60.
  • BACS payments for clients.
  • Keep up to date with new payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Proactively liaise with HMRC and assist with technical enquiries when they arise.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • To work with other departments and understand the services that are being provided to clients.
  • To proactively communicate the full range of services offered by the national payroll team to clients.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Payroll bureau experience
  • Sage 50 Payroll/xero knowledge is desirable, but training will be given.
  • Demonstrates up to date knowledge of current payroll legislation.
  • Knowledge of CIS is desirable, but training can be given.
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills is a must (both written and oral).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Methodical, process driven - with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates an appreciation of the importance of teamwork and responds willingly to all team members reasonable requests.
