Project Manager - Public Sector - **SC Clearance Essential**

A public sector client I'm currently recruiting for are looking for a Project Manager to support a transformation programme which is currently under way.

**SC Clearance ESSENTIAL**

The client is looking for someone that has experience of Programme Management Offices (PMO's) and their services, (e.g. risk management, planning, reporting, change control, governance, assurance).

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Assist the PMO in coordinating the activities of the various governance boards
  • Monitor programme and project plans by engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and track benefits realisation
  • Support the PMO Reporting Manager to collate and evaluate information received from projects from a range of reporting sources
  • Assist with drafting programme documentation and reports
  • Identify and resolve programme issues, escalating upwards to relevant members of the Programme team where appropriate
  • Assist with the support and maintenance of "best practice" in Programme/Project processes
  • Assist with internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Apply Continuous Improvement principles, tools and techniques to working practices to improve efficiency
  • Ad hoc duties as required
  • Working with senior stakeholders create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time and resource constraints;
  • Day to day management and leadership of the project and the project team. Set project controls in conjunction with the PMO. Design the project structure appropriate to the life stage. Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies aligned with the programme and wider portfolio;
  • Track delivery within the agreed schedule / manage resources to deliver the project;
  • Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned and ensure appropriate programme Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place, monitoring longer term delivery of benefits against the Business Case;
  • Identify and monitor project risks and issues and develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate through the PMO;
  • Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making;
  • Work in collaboration with the PMO, ensure effective change management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders;
  • Work with a planner and the PMO to build a Project Plan and apply appropriate project principles to deliver stated objectives;
  • Working closely with the PMO implements appropriate Project Controls and track and report delivery against milestones.
