The Team:

  • Sits in the Global Team - spend focuses on client facing technology/platforms (for example, creative platforms or media platforms etc), finance and media planning tools (used for billing clients), HR platforms like Workday; Coupa (their P2P tool) and other indirect spend areas like non-IT professional services (Where this role sits - buying consultancy or change management), social impact (includes carbon credits, investor teams, M&A activity - could be anything from commissioning a white paper to buying specialist consultancy)
  • This global team has the greatest range of contracts out of all of Procurement and the best track record of promoting people. It has the widest number of stakeholders. Spend under contract right now is c£100m and this is growing
  • The team you would be joining would have 4 others where the leadership style is one of coaching and helping prioritise work within the team and likes to give people a lot of autonomy
  • Procurement has a great standing in several departments such as Technology, however, in other areas are still winning the hearts and minds and getting individuals on board with the process. As such you will need to be flexible in approach, and not only drive savings but also understand key goals to add-value to projects for key stakeholders

Key Skills:

  • Experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects within the Professional Services category
  • Strong track record of driving savings within the transformation/change management services space including consultancy suppliers such as the Big 4, or more boutique consultancies
  • Having led negotiations for outcome-based contracts would be useful
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - able to drive procurement forwards and influence stakeholders who may not be familiar with Procurement and the value it can add to projects
  • Any global project exposure would be a benefit
  • Adaptable - someone who is happy to pick up other category areas such as Technology when there is a need
  • Personable and flexible in approach
  • Degree/CIPS/or equivalent qualification
