Alongside owning the entire procurement strategy for the business, the newly appointed Procurement Director will be responsible for:

Leading a team of 10+ procurement specialists, providing team structure, targets, and buying strategies to reduce costs and improve supplier engagement
Sourcing the right suppliers, ensuring they are vetted and screened appropriately and developing strong relationships with them to ensure they prioritise business interests, working to eliminate challenges effectively where required
Working with stakeholders to procure products and services whilst minimising costs, and maximising quality to ensure the business continues to deliver exceptional service and operating efficiencies.
Agreeing robust and reliable contracts ensuring SLAs are maintained and negotiating prices at the point of contract or proactively ahead of renewals to secure the best possible costs
Providing market analysis and insight to SLT, identifying, proposing, and arranging moves to new suppliers as required, and managing communication around these changes effectively.
Supporting sales and commercial finance stakeholders to develop compelling customer proposals.
Providing regular and clear communication to stakeholders on policy, processes, and procedures.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Director with a proven track record of success. The ideal candidate will have:

Significant experience leading a complex and varied procurement function, ideally for a minimum of five years
Experience managing procurement teams within IT and/or telecoms procurement, with experience or working knowledge of working with telecoms carriers being highly desirable
Exceptional people leader with the ability to inspire, challenge and develop the team as it continues to grow and take on more importance in the organisation
Excellent history of delivering significant business savings/cost optimisation through data analysis, problem-solving, and re-engineering processes for efficiency and effectiveness
Expertise in managing and delivering change projects as well as leading teams through transformation
Experience in implementing procurement best practice and systems
Expertise in proposing and gaining approval for business cases to change suppliers that materially affect business strategy and performance
Exceptional collaborator and communicator with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
Be an expert voice and provide input and influence on customer bid/tender proposals
