Working for this progressive and highly solutions-centric Technology Consulting & IT MSP business, as a Category Manager you will be responsible for improving supplier performance and sourcing and managing suppliers across the following categories cloud, datacentre, networking, cybersecurity, IT hardware, IT software, with a projected spend of £50m annually.
Other responsibilities include:
The negotiation and management of contracts, including dispute resolutions if needed, as well as supplier onboarding
Management of suppliers with respect to KPIs and SLAs but also through building strong collaborative relationships with them in order to leverage greater commercial outcomes.
Identification of opportunities for improvement, rationalising suppliers where appropriate and driving supplier ROI - this will require research and putting forward compelling case studies on best practice
Developing category-specific strategies that align with the business goals in order to contribute to greater commercial performance
Drive consolidation of spend and seek out synergies across the group where appropriate, by working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement category strategies
Work closely with the senior leadership teams in order to identify solutions to supplier selection and able to advise and present on any risks and business impacts
Execute category sourcing strategies including development and execution of RFI's and RFP's, developing selection criteria and driving the selection and approval process of suppliers
To succeed in this role, you will have the following expertise:
- Have a strong track record in procurement and category management of technology sub categories, such as cloud, data centres, networking, cyber security and software
- Expertise in contract management and negotiation, capable of drafting SLAs and KPIs to ensure favourable business terms
- Demonstrable ability of driving change in the procurement process to achieve outcomes more effectively and efficiently
- Passion for supplier management to drive better working partnerships
- Solutions-orientated approach and able to work proactively and autonomously, particularly in a remote working environment
