Cedar are currently looking for a Payroll Officer to join a Civil Service on an interim basis.
Duration: 7 months (there could also be the potential to go permanent)
Day rate: £127.70 per day (equivalent to £30,000 per annum)
Location: Leeds City Centre
Working Pattern: 2 days per week in the office
Working Hours: Flexible (core hours 10-4)
Reporting into: Payroll Manager
Key duties:
- Processing annual leave for leavers
- Checking for outstanding loans to be recovered
- Advances: calculating amounts, updating the tracker, ensuring full amount is recovered
- Send new starter checklist/P45s to CGI, ensure new starter checklists are completed in full
- Validating and ending pension for previous month's leavers
- Processing all corrections / adjustments from prior month
- Validating all absence warnings
- Issuing absence letters to managers
- Validating and processing overtime
- Completing monthly variance checks
- Responding to all queries in a timely manner
- Overpayments: calculating amounts, updating the tracker in full, ensuring entire overpayment process is followed
Key requirements for the role:
- Previous payroll experience is an essential prerequisite
- Candidates should also have experience in customer-facing roles
