Cedar are currently looking for a Payroll Assistant on a fixed term basis to join a professional services firm.

This role will be paying up to £26,000 per annum (pro rata)

Duration- 8 months

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day to day inputting of staff payrolls
    * Calculating all monthly changes through payroll
    * Processing joiners and leavers - setting up new employees on payroll and calculating leaver payments
    * Inputting all parental leave on the payroll and producing parental leave schedules
    * Checking and inputting overtime on the payroll
    * Liaising with HR to produce and reconcile audit reports
    * Producing and distributing the monthly payslips for all payrolls
    * Updating key payroll reconciliations and control accounts
    * Producing payroll reports and sending to HR
    * Assisting with the preparation of P60s & P11Ds
    * Proactively liaise with Human Resources to identify payroll changes


  • Knowledge and experience of UK income tax and national insurance regulations
    * Working knowledge of payroll software, preferably Open Pay but not essential
    * Relevant experience from a professional service background
    * Excel/spreadsheet skills
    * Excellent interpersonal skills
    * Excellent attention to detail skills
    * Aderant experience
