Software Licensing and Vendor Manager I £60,000 I Central London

A well known business is looking for a software licensing and vendor manager to join its procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable software licensing or vendor management specialist to utilise their skillset, acting as the SME for the organisation's software licensing requirements.

Reporting into the head of IT procurement, the software licensing and vendor manager will closely partner with the technology teams in order to understand the licensing requirements of the organisation. They will be responsible for the commercial management of software contracts and the commercial relationships with the vendors, in order to ensure compliance and value for money. Typical duties include procurement, renewal and renegotiation of software contracts, reporting of licensing compliance and value, and vendor reviews.

Responsibilities of the Licensing and Vendor Manager

  • Gain full understanding of software licensing landscape within the business
  • Provide strategic knowledge of software license and vendor management processes
  • Procurement of new software in line with group procurement policy
  • Administer license management software
  • Maintain commercial overview of upcoming license requirements
  • Design and implementation of all reporting related to budgeting and compliance
  • Develop supplier audit methodologies
  • Raise the profile of the commercial management function within the business

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in a software asset management, license management or vendor management focussed role
  • Relevant qualification (ITIL, CIPS) desired
  • Strong relationship builder
