Cedar is seeking a Service Accountant to join a Local Authority in the South East on an interim basis. The postholder will work closely with budget holders, provide financial advice and assist the Group Accountant.
Rate: £325 – £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: South East
Contract Length: 3 months
Working Pattern: 2-3 days on site per week
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with budget holders to set and monitor budgets and close accounts with clear audit trails.
- Deliver professional financial advice, information and support across a range of service areas.
- Ensure adherence with financial controls and identify solutions for emerging financial risks with management.
- Mentor Accountancy Assistants within the service area.
Requirements
- Fully qualified AAT or part-qualified CCAB.
- Experience in a similar role within a Local Authority.
- Experience of cost centre management and collaborating with budget holders.
