Management Accountant Interim

Cedar is currently partnered with a highly regarded PE-Backed Professional Services firm with an impressive history and reputation, to help them secure a Management Accountant. The role is to support the Financial Controller and would be based in their office in The City for 3 days per week. The role is a 3-6 month initial contract, paying a day rate between £400-450 on an Umbrella company basis.

The Company

The firm is going through a period of expansion and development. This role will support the finance team in managing the monthly and annual financial close processes while driving process improvements.

The Role

As Interim Management Accountant, you will:

• Manage monthly financial close, including General Ledger entries and P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse financial performance against budget, delivering clear variance commentary to highlight key drivers.
• Present financial data to Directors and managers, supporting informed business decisions.
• Collaborate effectively across various offices and Finance teams, providing advice and resolving issues.
• Partner with department heads to finalise forecasts and budgets for the upcoming financial year.
• Handle ad-hoc data analysis and information requests efficiently.
• Assess and improve current processes to mitigate risks.
• Support the annual financial audit, ensuring accurate and timely submission of audit materials.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

• A formal Accountancy Qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CA, etc).
• Proven experience in a management accounting role.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
