A local authority is looking for an Interim Treasury Manager for a 6 month period, based in London (hybrid working available) paying £350 per day PAYE.
Key role responsibilities:
- To support the Head of Pensions & Treasury in the management of the Treasury function in line with the regulatory framework for local government.
- To develop and lead the councils Treasury function to support capital investment and to minimise borrowing costs
- Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the treasury management strategy, cash, and debt management function.
- Responsible for production of statutory and non-statutory returns
- Ensure effective controls are in place at all times over treasury activities
- Manage the treasury accounts, approve deals, assist with treasury closure, reconciliations and arrange daily investments or loans
Key candidate requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Treasury qualification desirable
- Significant experience of treasury accounting
- Strong treasury strategy experience
- Local Authority experience essential
- Knowledge of legislation and best practice regarding the treasure management in local government
- Excellent communication skills
- Significant experience of cash flow forecasting and treasuring management
