Cedar are currently supporting a public sector client who are looking to appoint an Interim Assistant Sourcing Manager. This role is based in Preston (hybrid working) and will run for 3 months (potential to extend). The role is inside IR35 with a day rate of up to £300pd.
Our client is looking for someone who can help to transform procurement services into a leading edge and professional organisation through becoming more focused and integrated.
Some key responsibilities of the role include:
- Create a centrally coordinated, highly effective procurement function with strong execution capability
- Support development of category vision
- Deliver budget efficiencies and maximise use of funds
- Engage with SME's and local community in order to meet the Sustainable Procurement policies
- Ensure the delivery of compliant procurements and contracts and be responsible for improving overall compliance statistics and addressing non - compliance
Person Specification
- Must have experience of delivering multiple procurement projects using Project Management techniques
- Commercial experience with an understanding of Total Cost of Ownership and Demand Management approaches
- Experience in a similar role in the UK Public Sector would be advantageous
