The Category Manager will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Conducting in-depth market and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape within the assigned category.
- Developing and implementing category strategies, including assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities, to drive category growth and meet revenue targets.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and supply chain to align on category objectives and ensure seamless execution of category plans.
- Managing relationships with key suppliers and negotiating favourable terms, including pricing, terms and conditions, and promotional support, to optimise product assortment and profitability.
- Monitoring and analysing category performance metrics, sales data, and market insights to identify opportunities for improvement and course correction.
- Conducting regular store visits and gathering customer feedback to understand their needs, preferences, and shopping experiences, and leveraging this information to enhance category offerings.
- Leading the development of category-specific marketing initiatives, including product launches, promotions, and advertising campaigns, to increase brand visibility and drive customer engagement.
- Collaborating with the product development team to identify and introduce new products or line extensions that align with market trends and customer demands.
- Keeping abreast of industry developments, competitive activities, and consumer behaviour to proactively adjust category strategies and capitalise on market opportunities.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
The Successful Applicant
- 3+ years of FMCG experience including Category Management
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Solid knowledge of shopper marketing processes
- Commutable distance to the Manchester office to attend the office 2 times a week
