A local authority is looking for an Interim Head of Strategic & Corporate Finance to join them on a 4 month basis paying £575 Umbrella Co. This is a hybrid role with offices based in Central London.
Key role responsibilities:
- Leading the process for the development and monitoring of the Council's medium term financial strategy
- Managing a team
- Engaging with members and senior leadership across the organisation
- Providing strategic oversight and advice to the development of capital and revenue business cases
- Leading financial planning, including the annual budge build setting process and timetable
- Overseeing the delivery of a proactive financial management function
Key candidate requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Expert knowledge of local authority accounting practice
- Knowledge of the requirements to manage a Medium Term Financial Strategy
- Advanced Excel
- Hands on approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Senior level experience in a Local Authority environment in collating the Medium Term Financial Strategy report is essential
