A Head of Statutory Reporting is required by an independent global publishing company who are a real leader in their field. They publish hundreds of journals every year as well as a myriad of other unique single issue titles, all to a worldwide audience and in dozens of different languages; they also own an ever-growing selection of library products. The company is a natural home for scores of authors and their independence will ensure their growth by allowing true editorial freedom.

Due to an internal move, they need to recruit a new Head of Statutory Reporting for their International division. Reporting at Director level your duties will include:
·Monitor, assess and improve financial controls across the International business; ensure controls are aligned and risks are managed as far as possible.
·Play a key role in supporting business acquisitions including due diligence, contract review and financial integration.
·Produce the UK annual statutory accounts and tax pack for review by the external auditors.
·Ensure statutory & tax filings are made for all International entities including annual returns, tax returns, VAT / sales tax returns and other relevant returns.
·Act as a point of contact for technical accounting queries; ensure accounting policies are aligned.
·Support transformation & process improvement initiatives; ensure best practice is always used.
·A range of ad hoc projects to support the growth of the company.

Candidates for the post of Head of Statutory Reporting will be qualified accountants (ACA preferred) who have ideally qualified in practice and then either have progressed in practice or moved into industry to gain financial / statutory reporting & controls experience. Candidates will also be technically adept and will have some knowledge of current UK GAAP / FRS102 & US GAAP standards. Further, good communication, strong stakeholder management and staff supervisory experience will be assumed. This role should be seen as an entry point role to a global business where progression opportunities exist for strong individuals.
