A Head of Financial Reporting is required by an independent global publishing company who are a real leader in their field. They publish hundreds of on-going titles every year as well as a myriad of other unique single issue titles, all to a worldwide audience and in dozens of different languages; they also own an ever-growing selection of library products. The company is a natural home for scores of authors and their independence will ensure their growth by allowing true editorial freedom.

They need to recruit a new Head of Financial Reporting; reporting to the International Finance Director your duties will include:
·Leading and managing the management accounts team of 9 in ensuring the accounts provide an accurate representation of business performance.
·Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including review with business budget holders.
·Reviewing consolidations, monthly reporting and key balance sheet reconciliations.
·Act as a point of contact for queries from overseas finance teams; ensure best practice on a global scale.
·Manage the annual audit process and own the liaison with the external auditors.
·Ensure your team receive the training, support and development they need to thrive.
·A range of ad hoc projects to support the growth of the company.

Candidates for the role of Head of Financial Reporting will be qualified accountants (ACA preferred) who have qualified in practice and then gained accounting experience in industry. Candidates will have strong staff management experience (and will enjoy this aspect of a role), will be technically adept and will ideally have some knowledge of US GAAP. Prior experience in a global company would also be relevant along with good communication and stakeholder management skills. This role should be seen as an entry point role to a global business where progression opportunities exist for strong individuals.
