I am recruiting a Financial Reporting Manager for a truly global market-leading insurance company. They are one of the most recognisable names in their field and one of the highest performing; their profits (before tax) run into the billions of pounds. They're growing and this is an ideal time to join them in this newly created role.

The Financial Reporting Manager will report into the Head of Financial Reporting and will help to produce (the more complex parts of) the internal and external reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare financial results & reports on a timely basis under UK GAAP including statutory and regulatory reporting.
  • Assist in producing external reporting including Half Year & Annual Reports under UK GAAP.
  • Develop accounting policies under UK GAAP; produce technical research papers for transactions.
  • Mentor & develop one member of staff; support the head of the department in leading the team.
  • Drive process improvements across ledger & reporting applications to increase efficiencies.
  • A range of ad hoc projects to support a growing business.

The ideal candidate for the position of Financial Reporting Manager will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in at least one role since qualifying.
  • Possess financial reporting experience within a complex international business or a Top 20 firm in either an audit or reporting capacity.
  • Demonstrate sound all-round knowledge of UK GAAP (and / or IFRS)
  • Possess strong analytical skills and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders who are eager to work in a 'best practice' manner.
  • Nice to have: General insurance experience (gained from either audit or the insurance industry).

NOTE: This role offers hybrid working with 3 office days per week split between their offices in the City (1 day) and near Gillingham, Kent (2 days). Kent-based candidates are therefore especially sought.

Salary: £70-75k + 10% pension + 16% bonus + excellent benefits.
