I am exclusively partnered with a leading Fintech that is about to start an exciting stage in its growth journey. With recent additional funding it is looking to bolster its finance function to assist as the company moves to another level.

The Opportunity

We are a dynamic and growing business looking for a hands-on newly qualified Financial Accountant, experience in a Fintech/SME environment is desirable. You will play an integral role in the finance function, participating in the month end close, preparing financial statements, adhering to internal controls, automating processes and liaising directly with senior internal and external stakeholders.

The right candidate for this role will be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, where priorities are constantly changing, and processes will need to be built and enhanced alongside your BAU activity.

This position is based in our London office (hybrid working) and will report directly to the Financial Controller.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the UK entities trial balance.
  • Participating in the month end close process, including preparation of journals, general ledger postings, bank and intercompany reconciliations and ensuring timely closing of the books and integrity of the results.
  • Preparing analysis on movements in key general ledger accounts.
  • Operating a high control environment, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolving any differences.
  • Production of annual consolidated and stand-alone financial statements in accordance with FRS102.
  • Liaising with external auditors and preparation of audit support schedules and working papers.
  • Completing VAT returns, other tax compliance matters and any Regulatory Reporting requirements.
  • Working closely with the FP&A function to support the delivery of the Group management reporting and budgets.
  • Identifying and executing on continual process improvements ensuring systems and processes are operating as designed.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as may be required.

Skills & Experience

  • You will need excellent communication skills (across all media) and possess the ability to 'get things done' in a flexible dynamic organisation.
  • Newly qualified accountant.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Good time management, ability to calm under pressure, ability to respond in a timely manner and keep all stakeholders appropriately informed of progress.
  • Ability to show initiative and think outside the box.
  • Good and confident communicator and able to deal with people at all levels in an organisation.
