Cedar are delighted to be recruiting a Financial Accountant for a market-leading communications company and events business who curate and host exhibitions on a worldwide scale. Seen as one of the go-to brands in their industry, they are both growing and becoming increasingly profitable as they successfully develop their brand and move into new markets by opening new events all the time.

The Financial Accountant will work under the Finance Director of a key c. £60m business unit (poised to grow to c. £100m by 2025) and will enjoy the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee month end close process; review financial data and provide explanations for variances.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial reporting deliverables including trend analysis, variance analysis against budget, prior forecasts and monthly reporting for management.
  • Work with the commercial finance managers to produce accurate cash flows.
  • Design / implement reporting on AR & AP performance; ensure relevant targets are met.
  • Develop / embed best-fit controls around reconciliations & journals, improve reporting accuracy.
  • A range of ad hoc projects (e.g. implementing SAP, supporting M&A, creating new events etc)

The suitable candidate for the position of Financial Accountant will:

  • Be a qualified ACA who trained with a Top 40 firm or an ACCA who qualified in industry.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and enjoys liaising with key non-financial stakeholders.
  • Thrive on immediate responsibility for helping to run a key (and fast expanding) business unit.
  • Enjoy improving controls and developing processes that save people time and effort.

Salary: £57000 - £60000 + 15% bonus + excellent holiday / pension and other benefits.
