Our client is an exciting eCommerce business which, after several successful years of trading in the UK, is looking to significantly expand its reach globally. A critical aspect the firm's future success is the effectiveness of the group finance function. Working directly under the CFO, this position will look to build efficiency across the business, be it around common processes for reporting, supply chain, controls standards etc. The firm's ERP platform has recently been replaced but its extensive functionality is currently underused. Building consensus on best practice for this new platform will also be a key part of this role. The position will require previous experience of working within finance operations (potentially supported by an accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA) but the successful individual will have moved into process improvement, system implementation and wider project work rather than remaining in a BAU position. Critical to this role is a proactive attitude and naturally curious approach. You will be allocated significant autonomy in this role, with a remit to operate across the various functions of the organisation liaising with key stakeholders at all levels. It will be your responsibility to conduct a deep dive on current finance processes, and set a path to a more effective, standardised approach a group level. An ability to show empathy with those at an operational level which will, in turn, build support for new ideas/approaches, is critical. Whilst acting as the catalyst for significant change within the business, this role requires a long term view and sensitive approach rather than an aggressive, deliver at all costs mindset. You will have ideally worked in an ecommerce environment in the past, preferably for an SME rather than a major blue or multi-national, where you have driven an attitude to process improvement from the inside. The position represents an excellent opportunity to join a business as they make an aggressive move to grow, offering a challenging and rewarding platform for development.
