A Finance Business Partner is sought by a leading transport retail business who would like more detailed and better analysis to aid them in their decision making. The business has a turnover of around £1bn, is international, and more importantly, is growing. They have exciting new products / operations planned for 2019 and beyond and need real commercial support to help them achieve their objectives - this is therefore a very exciting time to join them.
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the Finance Business Partner will provide analytical support to three Directors who are focused on ensuring that Customer Experience and Customer Engagement are as good as they can be. As the management accounts are produced elsewhere, the duties of the Finance Business Partner will be purely commercial and will include:
·Proactively challenge performance and drive change to ensure key operational and financial targets are achieved or beaten.
·Build and maintain effective working relationships across teams, act as the financial 'go to person' for business stakeholders.
·Provide forward looking financial information to key stakeholders and the CFO; lead business review meetings to deliver insight and identify risks & opportunities.
·Lead the budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles for your business areas.
·Drive strategic and long-term business planning; developing 20 Year Plans for your business areas.
·Develop business cases to support Investment Appraisals, including conducting post implementation and financial benefit reviews.
·Support and drive ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.
The ideal candidate for the role of Finance Business Partner will be a qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) with proven business partnering and analytical experience. Candidates will be bright with enquiring minds, being inclined to challenge the status quo and challenge traditional thinking. Applicants will be adept at building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and will enjoy seeing their outputs contribute to actual decision making.
