Cedar are currently looking for a Finance Analyst on a permanent basis to join a media company based in Central London.

Salary- £40,000- £45,000 depending on experience


This role reports to the Finance Business Partner - Group Functions


Overview of job

This Financial Analyst will support the finance business partnering with Group Functions, taking the lead in managing and monitoring payroll activities, as well as assisting with forecasting and reporting across a variety of Group functions. The Financial Analyst will play an active role in managing month end for specific business areas, working with a range of stakeholders across the group, coming up with new ideas to improve and refine our processes.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Deliver high level support to Group Functions and to the wider Finance team
  • Partner with People & Culture on all things payroll-related and take ownership for accurate payroll reporting across the Group
  • As a key contact between People & Culture and the Finance team, you'll spend significant time building relationships with department heads, identifying new ways to communicate performance and provide FP&A support
  • Ownership of the P&L, budget, forecasts and KPIs for certain Group functions, ensuring timely delivery of monthly reports, with commentary and analysis
  • You will constantly challenge how things are done and look for new ways to support the business to achieve excellence in its financial performance
  • You will maintain the highest level of financial management and controls to support your business area
  • Embrace technological changes including the new finance system to deliver efficient, value enhancing support for the business, working directly with Finance Systems
  • Participate in and lead parts of key projects and strategic reviews across Group Functions

What you will need:

  • A proven ability to develop relationships and work as a business partner within a company, demonstrating confidence, strong influencing skills and excellent verbal and written communication
  • You'll need to be a lateral thinker who can solve problems and deliver solutions to the business, whilst at the same time ensuring we stick to the rules and audit requirements are met
  • To demonstrate a track record of driving change, improvement and challenge through an organisation or department
  • Evidence of a strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record of career development in a dynamic organization
  • Part-qualifcation with a recognised accountancy body is desirable, but not required
