  • Reporting to the Global Head of Procurement, this is a vital role in the Procurement Team. The aim of the function is to create and instil a consistent approach across all divisions, working with all global delivery teams to achieve best value for money, savings, procurement best practice, and SRM.
  • Procurement's have a good standing and are involved from the conception of all major projects, especially those of key impact and complexity, taking an end to end approach. A new Procurement strategy to further enhance the impact and global scalability of the function was recently launched and is currently underway following the arrival of a new Head of Procurement late last year.
  • The key focus of the role outside of general indirects will be to support the Events category spend area across the business with over 30% of supplier spend covering Venues & Event Operations. This is, therefore, a high-profile role working with stakeholders at all levels on key spend areas and is supported by a recently appointed Buyer in the Category area (direct report). Procurement's threshold is to be involved from the start of all projects with an annual spend over £20k. Annual spend is c.£60m.
  • This role will be global and is spread across the entirety of the Group. Currently, the procurement of Venues & Event Operations is managed by the Procurement team for the UK and Brands division and there is a broadly mature relationship with suppliers and stakeholders. The role will be expected to review existing contracts and develop/implement category strategies with key stakeholders for future procurements to ensure that the business is securing best value and service. The role will support the development of the SRM programme and develop these feature with all Events key suppliers in the UK and Brands divisions, and globally eventually.
  • The other regional areas of the Group such as USA, Asia and Turkey currently procure most services predominantly at a local level with minimal Procurement involvement and should therefore be viewed as Greenfield opportunities, and the successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in building successful relationships quickly to manage and support the global spend category and deliver wider benefits and synergies back to the business.
